550 Hr Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training
The Pilates Haus Comprehensive Teacher Training Program is designed to prepare students to become confident, knowledgeable, and highly skilled Pilates instructors. Rooted in the original principles of Joseph Pilates while incorporating current movement science and evidence-based teaching practices, our program provides an in-depth education in the Pilates method.
The Program consists of 8 modules that ensure students receive comprehensive instruction in the following:
- Pilates history and principles
- Functional anatomy and biomechanics
- Postural assessment and movement analysis
- Mat Pilates
- Reformer
- Cadillac/Tower
- Chair
- Barrels and Arcs
- Jumpboard
- Pilates Props
- Programming for healthy individuals and special populations
- Client assessment and goal setting
- Teaching methodology and cueing
- Safety, modifications, contraindications, and professional ethics
- Practice teaching, observation, and supervised instruction
Our curriculum combines classroom education, hands-on learning, observation hours, self-practice, and apprentice teaching to ensure graduates are prepared to teach safely and effectively in both private and group settings.
Students train on industry-leading Balanced Body equipment in small cohorts, allowing for individualized instruction and mentorship throughout the program.
Graduates who successfully complete all program requirements are eligible to sit for the National Pilates Certification Exam.
The Pilates Haus Comprehensive Certification program is a 500+ hour program. The hours break down as follows:

Mat Pilates 1 - Module 1

This course is an Introduction to Pilates Mat Foundation, Beginning/Intermediate Exercises
Recommended Prerequisites: 10 Mat classes. 6 months experience teaching movement and some anatomy
Mat 1 forms the foundation of the Pilates Method. This course includes an introduction to the history and principles of the Pilates Method, the foundational, beginning and some intermediate level exercises and an introduction to anatomy. Each exercise includes training on modifications, variations, challenges, the purpose of the exercise and any precautions for injuries and special populations. How to design and teach group classes and guidelines for teaching seniors and pre and post natal classes are included.
Course Objectives:
1. Develop a clear understanding of the Pilates Principles and the Pilates Method
2. Identify the purpose of each beginner and intermediate Pilates exercise
3. Demonstrate and safely teach each Pilates exercise with clear verbal cueing

Mat Pilates 2 - Module 2
Dates: February 26-28

This course is focuses on Intermediate/Advanced Exercises
Prerequisite: Mat 1
Recommended Prerequisite:1 year of movement classes
Mat 2 teaches the remaining intermediate and advanced level Mat exercises for a complete understanding of the Pilates Mat program. Lectures include progressive skill development to achieve the advanced exercises, programming for intermediate and advanced classes and creating successful Mat classes
Course Objectives:
1. Develop a complete understanding of the Pilates Mat repertoire.
2. Identify the purpose of each of the remaining intermediate and advanced Mat exercises.
3. Demonstrate and safely teach Mat Pilates exercises to group classes with clear, concise cueing.

Reformer 1 - Module 3
Dates: March 19-21

Introduction to the Reformer Beginning Exercises
Prerequisites: Mat 1 and 20 Reformer classes. 1 year experience teaching movement recommended.
This course introduces the Universal Reformer, the center piece of the Pilates equipment studio and an invaluable tool/apparatus. Reformer 1 includes an introduction to safely using the Pilates Reformer for a wide variety of supine, seated, kneeling and standing exercises for the beginning to intermediate student. The reformer is used to help improve whole body alignment and create balanced muscle development
Course Objectives:
1. Develop a clear understanding of the Universal reformer, safety protocol and beginner exercises
2. Identify the purpose of each exercise
3. Demonstrate and safely teach beginner reformer exercises with clear and concise cueing.

Reformer 2 includes to focus safely using the Pilates Reformer for a wide variety of supine, seated, kneeling and standing exercises for the intermediate student. The reformer is used to help improve whole body alignment and create balanced muscle development
